About
Tom Garrington has been drumming professionally for nearly a quarter of a century. A degree in classical percussion from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, and years of touring in show bands and the top function bands in NYC and Boston have made Tom a dynamic performer with a vast repertoire of songs and musical genres.
Versatility is the key that enables him to take on many diverse musical situations. It serves him whether he’s playing drums for a rock band, leading a jazz quintet, or playing timpani in an opera. His goal as a drummer is to always serve the music and provide the artist with the feeling of comfort and familiarity from the very first note.
Additionally, further studies in audio production allow Tom to craft the perfect drum track to fit new works, and the ability to present material from the past with authentic precision.
Currently residing in the DC area (Maryland), Tom continues to perform and pursue audio production and mixing. He also teaches drum set privately and would be a great fit for any students interested in the lineage of drums and audio production/mixing.
